Taut, minerally and delineated on the palate, which displays juicy pear, tangerine and pineapple flavors that become deeper with air. Concentrated yet lively as well, closing taut and very long, leaving dusty mineral and citrus pith notes behind. (JR)
There’s complexity to the fruit flavor of this chardonnay, grown in calcareous soils and fermented without added yeasts in barrels (25 percent new). The flavor ranges from just-ripe yellow peach to apricot skin and squash blossoms, with spice notes of mustard seeds. It’s integrated and smooth, a wine to chill for aperitifs.
This appellation blend allows a more affordable taste of the Talley family's Chardonnay excellence. This bottling shows aromas of Meyer lemon skins, warm nectarine, sea salt, tangerine pith and wet sidewalk. Rounded salt and stone fruit flavors show on the sip, but the citrusy acidity is persistent, cutting through the slight butter warmth. Caramel pops on the finish. (MK)
