The 2016 Pinot Noir Vista Verde comes from an estate vineyard near Calera, with vines planted at high elevations on limestone soils. Pale to medium ruby-purple, it gives dried cranberries, blueberries and boysenberries on the nose, with hints of cinnamon stick, saline, dried leaves, warm earth, tree bark, black tea leaves and dried flowers. Light to medium-bodied, it has a great core of ripe fruits with swirls of earthiness, very fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long and berry-laced. (EB)
The 2016 Pinot Noir Vista Verde Vineyard is plump, juicy and expressive, all of which make it easy to drink and enjoy young. Succulent red cherry and raspberry are pushed forward in this effortless, open-knit Pinot from Williams Selyem. The Vista Verde is not especially complex, but it is both delicious and a terrific example of the year. (AG)
There is a whiff of menthol to the blend of both red and dark berry aromas that are laced with spice, violet and clove wisps. The very supple and succulent, indeed even plush, textured medium weight flavors contrast somewhat with the sappy and long if mildly rustic finish. *Outstanding*
