A trace of reduction is not enough to materially mask the floral and citrus zest scents. There is good muscle to the vibrant and moderately stony medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that imparts a sappy texture to the impressively long and complex finish that is notably firm.
From vines formerly owned by Domaine Leflaive, the Folatières is excellent, opening in the glass with a pretty nose of lemon, mandarin oil, toasted nuts and light reduction. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and voluminous, with good depth and concentration. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030. (WK)
Lush and toasty, with sweet baking spice notes pressing up to the peach, baked apple and lemon flavors. Bright and succulent on the long finish. Drink now through 2022. (BS)
