This is aromatically similar to the Sétilles but with even more citrus influence that continues onto the tighter and more complex flavors that terminating in youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is a very good Bourgogne though it's one that will need at least a year or two of bottle age first. *Outstanding*
Toby Morrhall's note: Oncle Vincent comes from their own and oldest vines classified as Bourgogne and situated below Puligny. A baby Puligny. Back label promises 'fruit of our oldest vines in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet. Careful barrel-ageing for about ten months' etc. Presumably they're not exactly in the heart of the village; if so, the wine would qualify for the Puligny appellation. But it's good to know none of that careless barrel-ageing was involved anyway... Pale greenish straw. Smoky, pretty reductive nose. Very marked acidity but better than a heap of Pulignys! Early maturing with particularly searing acidity. A certain stoniness. Carefully sculpted certainly. GV (JR)
A compact style, offering lemon, apple and light spice flavors that take on a tactile feel on the finish. Offers just a hint of citrus peel bitterness for lift. Drink now. (BS, Web Only-2018)
