The classically proportioned 2016 Rasteau is full-bodied, creamy and rich, packed with red raspberry and black cherry fruit. Subtle spice notes add complexity on the nose and finish, which is long-lasting and silky. This should drink well for 5-8 years. (JC)
The early bottled 2016 Rasteau (70/30 Grenache and Syrah) is another success in the terrific vintage. Boasting a deep ruby/purple color and terrific notes of baked cherries, chocolate, and dried garrigue, it’s full-bodied, has solid concentration, ripe tannin, and outstanding length. It’s not going to make old bones but it a seriously good wine to drink over the coming 4-5 years.
