It truly baffles the mind that a wine of this quality can be so affordably priced. Elegant and refined, it is graced with a wonderful perfume of lilac, Meyer lemon, and wet slate. The palate is multidimensional and wonderfully evolved for such a young wine. Bright citrus flavors are accented by modest touches of orchard fruit and a slight hint of mango. Racy with bright acidity it is zips from the first sip to the last. This historic property has really hit its stride in recent years and has risen to the level of Weinbach, Trimbach, and Zind Humbrecht—making its modest price all the more remarkable. If you are a fan of Riesling (or any world-class white for that matter), you owe it to yourself to give this spectacular 2017 a spin.

A breathtaking wine and astonishing value for sure! This Riesling has so much going on that you just get smitten by complexity of various aromas and flavors. On the nose it opens up with meadow flowers, touch of honey, chamomile and white peach. On the palate it's incredibly powerful, rich and intense with lots of citrus and spice flavors, yet absolutely dry and super mineral; you can certainly feel the presence of that granitic soil that vines are grown on. Impeccable wine from a vineyard that dates back to 1214.

What a beautiful wine! Before you dismiss the 2017 vintage, you must try some of the excellent wines made from Grand Cru sites such as Julien Schaal's Sommerberg "Granite". The aromatics are youthful and exuberant, with white peach, nectarine, and passionfruit, on the palate the wine is clean and crisp, but with a beautiful added weight on the mid palate that speaks of its Grand Cru origin. The finish is persistent with lingering fruit. This has all the bones to develop well if you have the ability to lay it down, but it drinks beautifully now as well.

A gorgeous nose of white flowers, grapefruit zest, almond skin and pear notes greets you immediately upon putting your nose in the glass. The palate is electric, with citrus notes that run the gamut from lemons to grapefruits along with zippy acidity and crackling mineral notes. This stunning Riesling is a fabulous value and I am literally blown away that it is available for under $20! To be able to get a Grand Cru Riesling of this quality for under $20 is an absolute steal and perfect for your Thanksgiving festivities.
