Pampleau is a uniquely styled vin de pamplemousse inspired by the
citrus apéritifs of Southern France. Hand-cut grapefruit, Meyer
lemon, and orange are macerated in Sauvignon Blanc and neutral
spirit for six weeks and aromatized with a unique selection of
botanicals and spices including Tahitian vanilla, chamomile, and
gentian. The resulting wine is more complex, crisp, and dry than
comparable apéritifs, with a distinctly pithy bitterness. Pampleau is
sweet and grassy on the nose, juicy yet dry on the palate, and
finishes with a lingering, pithy bitterness.
