The brewers at this Truckee, Calif.-based brewery put together a masterful blend of caramel, Totality, and sea salt brined bourbon barrels to create this decadent beer. Notes of brûléed sugar are evident, with a subtle sea salt on a caramel Eclipse backbone. It's everything you'd hope for when you hear "Salted Caramel Eclipse."
For the 12th year in a row, FiftyFifty Brewing Company releases multiple versions of the same base imperial stout aged in multiple barrels and with different adjuncts packaged in 22-ounce bottles. In the spring, customers were able to buy futures of the stout with a 50% deposit on each bottle to lock down the purchase before the public release in December, in which versions are differentiated by the wax color covering the crown of each release.
