Very little lychee, but a lot of smoke and spice on the nose. After it aerated in the glass for 20 minutes, a rosewater note also emerged. There’s a great balance between creaminess and dry freshness in this wine married to some discreet textural qualities that add interest without making it too much to take (as sometimes happens with high-end Alsace Gewurz).
Gold-tinged yellow. Cool, musky aromas of grilled tropical fruits and herbs show a very refined quality. Pure, clean and rich, offering with intense flavors of apple, lichee, mango and spices. Not at all heavy or overly sweet (only 5 g/l residual sugar). Finishes racy and long, with good tactile presence. A lovely entry-level Gewürztraminer. (ID)
A textbook version of Gewürztraminer, with a creamy texture and notes of lychee, melon, rose petal and spice. Well-balanced and light-footed throughout. Drink now through 2019. (AN, Web Only-2014)
