On the right bank of the river Serein, this premier cru produces a complex, flinty, steely style of wine. This vintage retains much of that texture while adding riper apricot and apple flavors. It is tight and still young. Drink from 2019. (RV)
This is ripe, showing quince, apricot, orange and honey flavors. The texture is creamy, layered with lemon, mineral and spice notes on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2023. (BS)
(vinified 50% in tank and 50% in foudre): Light-medium yellow. Nicely precise scents of lemon, lime and minerals. Classic, complex, elegant wine with a lovely combination of white nectarine, citrus fruit and crushed stone flavors. Finishes with good cut and minerality, and sneaky building length. This elegant wine boasts excellent stony energy for the year and really perfumes the mouth on the aftertaste. It should allow for early drinkability thanks to its balance. (ST)
Here too there is a whiff of the exotic present on the otherwise very fresh aromas of white orchard fruit, orange peel and peach. On the palate the middle weight flavors possess more refinement if less concentration and power before concluding in a lingering apricot and lemon-infused finish that is sneaky long because just as it seems to be dying away, it reappears. Moreover I like the sense of underlying tension and while I wouldn't describe this notably dry and borderline tannic effort as classic due to the apricot element, it is certainly pretty.
