The 2016 Pinot Noir Sky comes all from the Calera clone and fine, sandy soils. It’s an incredibly aromatic, perfumed Pinot Noir that gives up loads of red fruits, spice, loamy earth, and hints of orange blossom. Complex, elegant, and silky on the palate, it never puts a foot wrong, has nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding balance. In short, it’s a classic expression of Pinot Noir from these sandy soils on the northern part of the Sta. Rita Hills. You can drink it today or cellar bottles for 7-8 years.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Sky is gracious, aromatic and nicely lifted. The personality of this sandy site comes through in a decidedly gracious expression of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot. The purity of the red-toned fruit is striking. The Sky emerges from parcels that are planted with Calera clone Pinot. (AG)
