Offering up aromas of sweet soil, dried cherries and potpourri, the 2012 Moulin-à-Vent Vieilles Vignes is medium-bodied, open-knit and succulent, with melting tannins and a mature, giving profile. It’s drinking very well today. (WK)
Bright ruby. Deeply pitched dark berry and cherry aromas are brightened by smoky mineral and cracked pepper nuances. Fleshy and seamless on the palate, offering ripe dark fruit flavors and an enlivening jolt of blood orange. Dusty tannins give solid grip to the long, smoky finish. Quite deep and brawny for the vintage, with the structure to age gracefully. (JR)
