Smoky, meaty, earthy forest floor notes emerge from the 2016 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard, and it picks up more sweet plum, raspberry and blood orange notes with time in the glass. Seeing 10-15% whole clusters, it has a savory, exotic style, beautiful fruit, a great mid-palate, and outstanding length.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard is quite dense, also the most inward and brooding of these Pinots. Inky dark fruit and huge tannins give the 2016 an impression of virile power. The 2016 is going to need time to unwind. Today, it is especially closed, and yet there is so much to look forward to, for those who can wait. (AG) 93+
