From Wilyabrup, Karridale and Cowaramup, largely tank-fermented, no mlf, 20% new French oak. Bright straw-green; abundant flavour, primarily stone fruit. Plenty to chew on, and ready now.
The 20% new oak used to mature the 2016 Chardonnay is scarcely noticeable, as the nose instead reveals attractive hints of white peach and tangerine. It's medium-bodied, with a hint of creaminess on the palate; but with no malolactic fermentation, it turns a bit tart on the quick-fading, citrusy finish. (JC)
Aromatic in style, this veers on the side of perfume on the nose. Nevertheless, it's very likable. Red apple skins and florals lead on the palate that's a little soapy, but is well balanced and stylish. More red apple lingers on the finish. Drink now-2020. (CP)
Pear, apple and citrus flavors are elegant and open-knit, with fresh acidity weaving in and out and appealing floral details in the background. Drink now. 25,000 cases made. (MW)
