We are so fortunate to be graced with another well-aged barrel from Knob Creek. This one was bottled just shy of its 14th birthday, but is by no means less mature than the last batch. Rich oak is among the first things I noticed, but with a mellow cornflower aroma behind it. Salted caramel, nuts and toffee coat a brilliant fruit profile including golden raisin and ripe persimmon. The flavor is hedonistic - intense but gorgeous - lifted by honey and sweet grass tones that offset the buttery, savory finish. It is hard to imagine finding another bottle of this quality for $50, let alone a better one.
