Aromas of cream and cooked pineapples. Light peaches, too. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and fruity. Lots of dry fruit at the finish. Drink now. Screw cap.
The 2017 Chenin Blanc is missing some varietal character on the nose. The palate is better: balanced with good acidity, a waxy texture and a twist of orange peel toward the finish. It just needs more aromatics, but perhaps that will develop with bottle age. I will give it the benefit of the doubt. (NM)
This offers classic Chenin aromas of citrus rind, green pear and a touch of white melon rind. The lightweight palate boasts bright acidity to cut through the ripe fruit and drive into the mouthwatering finish. It's easy to drink and enjoy, best now–2020. (LB)
