A very fresh and fine nose with lemon-drenched, crushed stones, making a striking impression of Chablis terroir. The palate has a very fresh, grapefruit and lemon core with flinty nuances and a build to richer green mangoes at the finish. This is very good. Drink or hold.
Once again the oak regimen is subtle but not invisible as it frames the lightly exotic aromas of orange peel, lychee and pear compote. The exceptionally rich and succulent middle weight plus flavors coat the palate with sap while exhibiting fine depth and length on the balanced finish where the wood resurfaces. This should drink well young but have no problems aging over the mid-term.
Aromas of lemon, mandarin, oyster shell and white flowers introduce the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, a medium to full-bodied, charming and supple wine with good depth at the core, lively acids and a precise, distinctly saline finish. (WK)
