For fans of richly styled Chardonnay this is a beyond slamming deal! Yes it's rich but it has good acidity, freshness and is well balanced. It has the style and taste of California's finest and most expensive Chardonnay's. I'm not kidding, taste for yourself and soon! I'm not the biggest Ca. Chardonnay fan but I'm all over this one!!!! This wine got me very excited! It smells like fresh apples with a hints of buttery pie crust. The fresh tart apples carry over to the pallet with a full round mouthfeel. The spicy tannins taste like cinnamon and allspice and linger on with that amazing acidity on the finish. I am definitely stocking up on this one!

Wow, the nose is so fresh. The smell of Chardonnay and wet stone just leaps from the glass. If you tasted this blind you might guess this chardonnay was produced in Green Valley, Occidental or Russian river growing regions. Just great. Vivid and smooth.

Firstly this is a screaming deal at this one-time, deeply discounted price. But perhaps more importantly - the wine is flat out delicious! I personally don't think California Chardonnay has ever been in a better place than it is right now. By and large the "oaky / buttery" monstrosities of yesteryear are gone. Most producers have realized that richness, ripeness and new oak are not the end game for this varietal. This bottling from Matias is a great example vibrant, fresh, even racy, modern Chardonnay, with lovely cut and verve on the palate. It still has the texture and weight that most Chardonnay drinkers are looking for, but the minimal oak influence and refreshing acid line allows the wine the surge across the palate with sublime flavors and surprising length. Sourced from two of the most highly regarded vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands: Sierra Mar and Soberanes. Both vineyards were planted and are farmed by the Pisoni and Franscioni families, the most highly regarded growers in the region. This is top notch SLH Chardonnay for an absolute steal of a price. Time to stock up!

This wine floored me. It is very Burgundian for a Californian Chardonnay. The nose has white flowers, soft citrus, and nice minerality. It smells so crisp and vibrant, and the palate delivers on those promises. It's chalky, has zippy acidity, is laser-focused, and has quite a long finish. Gorgeous.
