This entirely grand cru vintage Champagne is composed of 49% Chardonnay from Avize, Cramant, Oger, and Mesnil, and 51% Pinot Noir from Ay, Verzenay, and Bouzy.     We are very lucky to have secured an allocation of this great vintage Champagne from Lanson. Many Champagne fans will remember the 2002 from this house, and I am happy to report that this 2008 is even better. They selected only the very best Grand Cru vineyards for this wine, Ay, Verzenay and Bouzy for the Pinot Noir and Mesnil, Oger and Avize for the Chardonnay. The blend is 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay, and the wine has not gone through malolactic fermentation, giving it a straight line finish of crisp acidity that will see the wine through the ages. It is ready to drink on release, especially paired with cracked crab or scallops, but its best days are ahead of it. If you were married or had children in 2008, this is a bottle not to be missed. The 1976, which I tasted recently is proof of the immense ageing potential of these wines!

    This Lanson Gold Label is 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay with no malolactic fermentation. The nose is very chalky with some flintiness, but there’s still a lot of bright fruit. This combines nicely with more savory aromas and herbal notes. The palate is unexpectedly racy following the nose with more minerality and very bright fresh lemon acidity.

    The 2008 Lanson Gold Label is a lean and complex style of champagne. Fresh and intense, this is a very elegant, pure and refined classic champagne with a beautiful mineral expression. It has refreshing citrus notes on the long finish. Another great '08 vintage to add to your collection.

    Lanson has waited until now to release its 2008 vintage Gold-Label and it’s a good thing they did! They decided not to use malolactic fermentation to soften the edges on this high acid, electric vintage, but 11 years in the bottle should do the trick! This is an incredibly fresh, delicious vintage champagne from a top house with vibrant fruit, a great mineral texture and long, very bright finish. This will continue to age beautifully.

    Another release of a great vintage and of Grand Cru fruit! NO malolactic fermentation, so if you love acid in your champagne you'll love this one. It has some toastiness on the nose and a long finish.

    This mostly Grand Cru bottling is an outstanding example for powerful big house champagne. Buttered toast nose,with a bowl of ripe peaches near by. These wines do not see malolactic fermentation and thus are full of bone chilling acidity. This wine has a citrus focused with notes of ripe, tropical fruit and a long pretty finish.

    Such a treat, this is the perfect champagne to lay down a case of and track throughout the years because it's just a great contender for long-term aging. Sharp citrus notes show now through solid acidity, ending up with a big mouthful now that'll continue to develop through the years.

    53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay this toasty champagne is a real winner! The nose is buttery with hints of butterscotch and lemon zest. The palate is round with enough acid to cut through the richness and balance out the wine. 2008 is written all over this one with that characteristic balance of acid and robust mouth feel!
