Ready to get inox-uclated? If you're looking for a domestic chardonnay that won't break the bank, but that's also made in an Old World style, don't miss the Inox Chardonnay from Chehalem. The folks at Chehalem suppress malo on this tank-fermented chardonnay (Inox takes its name from the French word for stainless steel, inoxydable.), highlighting the full range of aromas and flavors of the Willamette Valley fruit. Pure and explosive aromatics redolent of late-summer/early fall farmers' market-stone fruit, citrus, melon, green apple and pear notes are grounded with earthy vanilla and spicy ginger. On the palate the tart, vibrant fruit is balanced by a shock of mineral.

This wine show cases the wonderful Chardonnay fruit of Willamette valley in Oregon. It is not aged in oak barrels and this allows the fruit to show its character and flavors. The Inox is round and pretty with focus and energy. It has bright fruit but is clean and has a nice crisp finish. This will compliment both fish and fowl dishes but is easy enough to drink alone.

Like the Bergstrom "Old Stones" Chardonnay, this release from Chehalem is all about the clean and crisp. A lively nose of lychee and nectarine is followed by green apple fruit and Myer lemon on the palate. No oak is involved, so this bugger is all about clean, fresh, fruit. An outstanding value!
