Basalto G2 shows a bright violet color. It has pure and clean aromas, with a touch of complexity from the spiciness and graphite notes. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced. The tannins are silky and velvety, with a long, juicy and mineral finish that is influenced by the basalt rock. *biodynamic, organic*

    Named after Basalt rich soils of the Los Lingues appellation in the Colchagua valley. This is a very exciting blend of Carmenere and Cabernet Franc. These "Bordeaux" varietals are known for their more assertive personalities but when combined together, at least with this wine, I think they rival the more famous duo of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This appealing red is dark, rich and concentrated. There is almost none of the herbaceousness that you would assume to be there with these two varietals. Dark cherry fruit with exotic spices, restrained oak and a lingering fine earthiness, is it the Basalt? I don't know. The G2 is a perfect combination of old world and new world. Structure and earthiness balanced with bright fruit and ripe tannins. Oh and it has a finish that goes and goes. If you stumble upon this wine give it a chance it rivals the great reds of Chile at a third of the price.

    This is a biodynamic/vegan wine near and dear to my heart. These markets continue to emerge in the wine community with massive growth predicted for the future. This blend of Carmenere and Cabernet Franc has a vibrant and wild dark garnet hue with a touch of cherry and earthen notes. You can taste the terroir gained from the mountainous terrain and volcanic basaltic soil.

    The spice and pepper on this belay the mass of Carmenere, the exotic spice note is really the only clue this is new world wine at all. Everything Koyle makes seems more direct and purposeful than I expect, with a finesse that's a great showcase for the region. A spicy wine for warm nights and BBQ.
