  Thanks to our esteemed colleague Greg St Clair and our subsequent relationship with Giampaolo Motta of La Massa, we were able to import this wonderful Sangiovese from one of his neighbors. It's a substantial wine that is on the more full-bodied side of Sangiovese and it continues to broaden with time in the bottle. Open this with meats and cheese dishes.

  This savory, full Toscano is textbook Italian. The firm herbal notes opening up and pushing over to the darker, dusty minerality that keeps evolving in the glass toward the spiced plum skin finish. The red fruit beam that just flits through the entirety adds an unexpected complexity at this price point, while the tannin and acid structure is all ready for you to enjoy right now. A boar ragu would be ideal, but in the event you are not in the heart of Tuscany, Pork Roast, Brisket, or Tri-tip wouldn't be out of place.

  This is bold Sangiovese from the heart of Chianti Classico. You can see that more inspiration was taken from Brunello than its neighbors. The nose is dark and rich with a little earth and spice, but it is about the dark fruits. The palate is unmistakably Sangiovese, but tamed Sangiovese. The wine has plenty of structure but the fruit rests on top of it, making the tannin and the acid the third or fourth thing that you notice. It is here where a little more of the delicate red fruits peek out from behind the darker, more powerful elements, as well as hints of savory herbs, earth, and a touch of spice. This is definitely a dinner wine, but it does not require a side of beef; I would be very happy with tri-tip, or a takeout burger, as well as a hearty ragu.

  The nose opens with mixed bramble berry jam, bright brandy cherries, and fresh new leather. There's also some great herbal tones, primarily composed of sage and thyme, with powerful spice. On the palate, raspberry and strawberry meld into a wonderful tart element with big tannin structure. More sipping reveals some fun medicinal components and dark plum notes. This is a full-bodied wine, but it's exquisitely balanced and approachable.

  Full bodied, powerful and structured wine but with great sense of balance. It starts off with alluring aromas of black fruit and wild herbs, then, continues on with black cherries, rich blackberries and lots of mouth-watering acidity on the palate, creating lovely juicy finish. Paired with prime rib dinner this Sangiovese was irresistible and left great impression!

  The nose of this wine says power, it’s dense, full of cedar, graphite and spice. On the palate this wine shows great length, balance and a real depth of flavor, it has good tannin structure, but the tannins lay against the acidic structure lengthening those into supple, powerful, support. The center palate shows a sweet, rich center that is full of wild cherry compote laced with cedar, middle eastern spice and earth. The finish is long, driving and replaying the same flavors but all coiled together into a wine showing long-term potential. Awesome price to value ratio. 100% Sangiovese from Panzano, made by La Massa for their Neapolitan neighbors.
