This small, all estate-grown Champagne is sourced from only one vineyard, the Clos Boursault, an ancient walled parcel just west of Epernay on the Marne. This grower-producer has roots dating back to 1843, and even earlier if you consider that the previous owner of this vineyard was Madame Veuve-Clicquot. Five generations of the family now work the vines and the cellars, making this truly a boutique Champagne domaine.

By: Gary Westby1/14/2020K&L Staff MemberThis Champagne, from the perfect exposures inside the walls of the Clos, did not need any dosage. It is composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay, so it’s very close to the Derot in composition. But the wine could not be more different. This Champagne has a warm baguette bouquet and clean red cherry and pear flavors. It is dry and zingy but not at all austere, and will go very well with anything from tuna tartare to composed salads.
