Bill Easton has been making wine in Amador County for more than three decades. Native to Sacramento, Bill fell in love with Rhône varieties while working at a wine shop in the Bay Area after attending UC Berkley. The foothills and terroir of Amador back home reminded him so much of the valley in France he decided it was where he would devote his life's work. Bill bottles all Rhône varieties under his label Terre Rouge, and the wines have received nothing but acclaim and accolades; including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhône Rangers, a Wine & Spirits magazine "Top 100 Wineries" spot, and a nomination for Winemaker of the Year by Wine Enthusiast magazine. He is devoted to "listening to what the vineyards have to say" and reflecting the land the grapes are grown on. Bill bottles all other varieties under his namesake label Easton, and seeks to elevate the Sierra Foothills wine region and it's long history.
