The primary fruit here belies the age of this 2014 Etna Rosso; it’s fresh, distinctive and even a little reductive. Blueberries, citrus and fresh herbs are the main components. Tight, linear and very direct, in terms of its delivery of bright acidity and firm tannins. From organically grown grapes.
The 2014 Etna Rosso Reseca offers a tight and focused bouquet with aromas of candied cherry, wild blueberry, volcanic ash and red rose petal. This is a very perfumed, aromatic and delicate expression of 80% Nerello Mascalese with 20% Nerello Cappuccio from a producer that normally pushes concentration and power in its wines. The Reseca offers a nice break from all of that. (ML) 91+
Deep red. Perfumed red cherry and raspberry liqueur are complicated by earth tones and aromatic herbs on the enticing nose. Then rich but juicy, with a strong tannic bite to the ripe aromatic red cherry fruit flavors. Finishes with building tannins and the usual Reseca ripeness. This is the best ever Reseca I have ever had at a similar stage of development. (ID)
Fresh-chopped thyme and sage notes accent the ripe and tangy black currant and black raspberry fruit in this fresh and balanced red. Medium- to full-bodied, with creamy tannins firming the spiced finish. (AN)
