K&L Notes

87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Syrah, 1% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. We craft our Columbia Valley Cabernet to highlight concentrated Washington red fruit in an accessible style. This is an inviting Cab with plenty of complexity and structure with silky tannins. It’s also very versatile with food. Enjoy it with beef tenderloin or pasta. Sourced from Columbia Valley vineyards in eastern Washington including our Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge Estate, and Indian Wells vineyards."

Deliciously drinkable Cabernet that is beautifully executed in a very classic style. Chateau Ste. Michelle are a true stalwart of Washington wine and have fantastic mature vineyards across the Columbia Valley. Year after year they consistently produce some of the region's top quality wines at very reasonable prices. This bottling is a perfect example of that. It's a special selection of their Columbia Valley Cabernet bottled in Magnum format to celebrate their 50th vintage. The winery priced it at $50! The wine shows a nice combination of red and black fruits: blackberry, redcurrant, plum, cedar, cigar box. Medium bodied with a nice texture and weight but not at all sweet. I think this could pass for a solid bottle of Haut-Medoc from Bordeaux. It's very food friendly too. With this ridiculous deal on a delicious Magnum of Cabernet - consider the bulk of your holiday gift shopping done! This commemorative 50th Anniversary bottling from Chateau Ste. Michelle is perfect for gifting and way over-delivers for the price. A great-looking label, a crowd-pleasing Cab and a stunningly low price.

This is a beautiful bottle in honor of the 50th anniversary of Chateau Ste. Michelle. While this is not the most complex bottling of Cabernet we have on the shelves, it is delicious and easy drinking and a phenomenal deal for this large format (especially when the winery sells it for $50). This is a great choice for a party or a weekend away. Columbia Valley is consistently producing some great Cabernets and is the place to watch for affordable, quality wines.

Bold fruit without becoming jammy, this 50th Anniversary Cab rocks blueberry, blackberry, leather, and pepper on the nose. The fruit is concentrated, intense, and dark. The palate is very dry with dehydrated cherries. curry spice, and black licorice. Decanter gave this 93 points, and this wine will pair perfectly with duck, grilled meats, strong cheese, or dark chocolates.
