Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir South Crest is a little closed at this youthful stage, revealing subtle cranberry and rhubarb notes with underlying earth and underbrush notes. Medium to full-bodied, it has a lovely velvety texture and racy backbone supporting the powerful red fruit and earthy flavors, finishing long. (LPB)
Soft red rose petals, cranberry, wet slate and dust show on the nose of this bottling, one of the first new-block designates released by this producer. The palate's plush texture carries strong soil flavors of crushed gravel and turned earth, which give depth to the background of ripe raspberry and pomegranate fruit. (MK)
