K&L Notes

Before founding Edward Lewis Cellars in 2016, Ed Snider founded Beau Vigne in 2002, a hidden gem in the Atlas Peak AVA, which is well known for its top-scoring Cabernet Sauvignons. Although Beau Vigne has flown somewhat under the radar their history runs deep in Napa Valley. Ed's grandfather arrived in Napa Valley in 1913 after having trained as a winemaker in Italy. To his credit, Ed, along with winemaker Kirk Venge have produced a string of brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon's including their epic 100 point (Robert Parker) 2013 Reserve.

Looking for an amazing Cabernet with silky tannins, elegance, and balance? Look no further. Pretty Woman from Edward Lewis Cellars (Beau Vigne) has it all. And with our current price, it's a stunning value, and perhaps a fantastic gift for the Cab lover, but honestly, worthy of any dinner party you have coming up. It's very approachable, easy drinking, and has nice flavors of vanilla, black currants, and just about everything I want in a Napa Cab. Treat yourself, don't cheat yourself.

The “Pretty Woman” cuvée from Edward Lewis Cellars is one of the most delicious Cabernets I’ve tasted this year. It’s an absolute stunner in terms of depth and complexity with a finish that lingers on and on. I'm still in awe of this amazing Cabernet deal. This best-of-barrel selection Cabernet Sauvignon has a just enough Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to remind me of the legendary Dalla Valley Maya which currently sells for well above $400 bottle. Though it's not exactly the same blend, it possesses that hallmark Maya expression of monolithic depth with hints of cigar wrapper and black slate. This is such a stunning wine!

The "Pretty Woman" has that extra something that distinguishes GREAT Napa Cabernet from the regularly very good pack. Leaning towards deep layers and fleshy and ripe fruit this wine is loaded with copious amounts of cassis, coffee and , the wine is reminiscent of the top cuvees from Darioush, Cliff Lede and even Tim Mondavi's Conundrum. All of which could send you well north of $150. And this was up there at one time! Sure, it's still not cheap but where most noteworthy Napa cabs start around $50, for just a few dollars more, you're drinking from the upper echelons of the Valley! This is serious juice for sure.
