The only white 1995 I tasted, the Corton Charlemagne, is atypically delicious now yet can be held for a dozen years: Slightly gold colored and exhibiting aromas of super-ripe, toasty and spicy fruit, this fat, thick-textured and structured wine possesses buttery, tropical fruit flavors. (PR)
Pungent lemon and soft oatmeal aromas blend into detailed, intense and very pure flavors cut with an intense limestone character and superb length. This is quite understated at the moment and this will require additional time to be at its best. I would observe that this is perhaps more taut and reserved than the typical Corton-Charlemagne from Leroy.
