What strikes you about this old-vineyard red is the texture of fine tannins and richness of ripe fruit. Yet, it’s all in fantastic harmony and intensity. Full body. Wonderful texture and energy. Such drinkability and depth. Drink or hold. But one for the cellar and only 1,500 bottles made.

Fully saturated red with ruby tinges. Spicy and perfumed on the nose, with red cherry and plum fruit lifted by violet and complicated by a very strong note of coffee. Juicy and precise, but very youthful though, with the firm tannins currently cutting off the wine's fruit. There is a good acid/tannin spine, so all this might need is at least five or six years of cellaring to show all it has to offer; hopefully the fruit will hold out. (ID) 91+
