Can Sumoi is the new Penedes project from Pepé Raventos of Raventos i Blanc. Located in the lower Penedes, the wines are all really well put together, produced from organically farmed estate grown fruit in calcareous soils containing many marine fossils, and made in a careful yet hands off approach informed by some of Pepé's favorite natural wines. Montònega is a clone of Parellada found on the estate, with high quality, pink berries. The soils here are primarily clay and limestone and very compact. Vineyards are farmed organically with biodynamic practices in place.This PÉT-NAT is made in the traditional method with no additives, stabilization or filtration.
A balanced, fragrant and fresh sparkling wine. In the nose, the aromas of ripe white fruit stand out, with floral notes. In the mouth it is fluid, with an elegant bubble and a slightly salty finish that makes it long and persistent.
