It isn't often that a winery's SRP, or "suggested retail price," is about the same as the great prices that we can offer, or in the case of bigger brands, elsewhere in the retail market. Often, they're a good $5 higher at the winery. But Husch lists their 2018 Sauvignon Blanc for just $15. That's just the kind of winery they are. Still family-owned in Mendocino's Anderson Valley, Husch has been producing Sauvignon Blanc since 1980. They source this wine from their partners down the hill in between Ukiah and Hopland. Although here it's not called the Russian River Valley appellation, La Ribera vineyard sits, indeed, right by the Russian River. Winery notes: "Husch’s 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is an instant classic. Lively aromas of lemongrass, lime, honeydew melon, guava, star fruit, grass, and gooseberry burst from the glass. The wine is crisp and refreshing with flavors that mimic the aromas. Consider pairing with oysters, goat cheese, fish tacos or grilled veggies."

This 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, light to medium-bodied example revealing forceful, fragrant notes of melons, figs, dried herbs, and a hint of honey, delicious. A great value.
