Structured, in the sense that it’s both finely gained and quite muscular, rolling through dusty dark fruit and a pretty sweet-and-sour character. 70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot.
The 2017 Lucilla is the estate's Sangiovese-based blend, is bold and fruity, with lovely depth and impeccable balance. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to a core of Sangiovese works extremely well to temper the ripeness of the year. The 2017 is curvy, racy and flat-out delicious. (AG)
