One of my favorite releases in recent memory from Los Angeles-based Cellador Ales, Gosesque Nectarine is a sour dream, with pronounced saline flavor, vivid acidity, and distinctive citrus character, thanks to being fermented on Summer Grand nectarines from Masumoto Family Farm. (Locals note: you can sometimes find Masumoto at the Sunday Hollywood Farmers’ market, and their fruit is sublime fresh – you can only imagine how great it tastes when amplified in a beer). This is clean yet subtly savory, a welcome twist on the classic German gose that somehow also retains a Belgian feel. Gosesque Nectarine is a deliciously creative pairing with charcuterie, or lovely drinking on its own, preferably al fresco.
