Winemaker's Notes: "Despite being just one variety from one vineyard, this wine is made up of four separate fermentations of Petite Sirah from Contra Costa County. We experimented with varying amounts of whole cluster and a couple different levels of ripeness. This gave us a few tools that we could use to make an extra compelling Contra Costa Petite Sirah. This wine is light and layered and you can tell it is a different breed of Petite Sirah instantly. It is a soft, clear red in the glass and jumps out aromatically with juicy, red fruit, blackberries, and sweet spices like clove and cardamom. This juicy freshness exists in the palate as well and presents itself initially as strawberry candy and raspberry before revealing nuances of dry, dusty earth, cedar, and just a touch of bitterness which holds everything together. There is no pretense to this wine and nothing contrived about it. This is just a delicious bottle that should be shared with friends over and over. Just 3 barrels / 75cs produced."
