Camus has completely revamped their lineup. This is not just a packaging change, but an actual change in the Cognac itself. In addition to now distilling everything on the lees, they've incorporated a unique technique they've developed over the last two decades in which they take what would be the heads cuts, split it into 20 tiny batches, and then evaluate and add back in the 10 most intensely aromatic portions before barreling. The result is a stunninglly intense aromatic Cognac that is leaps and bounds more complex and enjoyable. The VSOP is elegant and full of tropical fruit, a generous floral component, and lavish fruit and spices. It's an amazing value on the shelf from France's 5th largest Cognac house.
