Camus has completely revamped their lineup. This is not just a packaging change, but an actual change in the Cognac itself. In addition to now distilling everything on the lees, they've incorporated a unique technique they've developed over the last two decades in which they take what would be the heads cuts, split it into 20 tiny batches, and then evaluate and add back in the 10 most intensely aromatic portions before barreling. The result is a stunninglly intense aromatic Cognac that is leaps and bounds more complex and enjoyable. The XO shows a particularlly pronounced pineapple note that is captivating. It's supple tannins and spicy finish are the perfect foil to the candied orange peel and floral aromatics. It's a rich buttery Cognac that offers amazing bang for your buck.
