The Pellegrino company was founded in 1880, and remains in the family to this day (seven generations), proving it one of the great families of Sicilian wine. Known for their long history in and deep knowledge of making Marsala, the base of Amaro Pellegrino. The amaro is produced from a blend of Sicilian herbs, and blended with distilled wine sourced exclusively from grapes grown in the Marsala DOC. It's then aged more than five years in Slovenian oak casks ranging in size form 1,300-2,100 gallons.
