We had the exact same end of vintage deal on this wine last year and it evaporated very quickly. The 2017 is every bit as good and this time it has a nice 91 point Wine Spectator write up to boot. From a single vineyard on the slopes of Mount Veeder over looking Carneros, this Chardonnay once again has big, bold, powerful flavors of ripe, golden orchard fruit, nectarine, brioche and poached pear. Round, soft texture with toasty oak and buttery, pie crust notes. The rich, creamy, mid-palate is nicely balanced by some juicy, bright acidity that lifts and extends the finish. The very low yields of this mountain site have once again produced a profoundly concentrated, powerful Chardonnay. If you enjoy Lewis, Pahlmeyer, Rochioli, Rombauer etc...check this out for a fraction of the price.
