Produced from Diego grapes, grown in the volcanic soils of the Lanzarote D.O., this is simultaneously bright and creamy, with a mineral quality that leaves a tasty and slightly drier impression than their other white from Malvasia grapes. Delicious Canary white!

I love obscure little island wines but the Canary Islands has been getting a lot more attention these days and is transcending its category to noteworthy for sure. Volcanic soils and brutal winds make for wine that is tense, nervy and yet expressive. Los Bermejos has beautiful brined apple and pear flavors with notes of white flowers and wild thyme. Reminiscent of another great volcanic island - Santorini - the Diego grape has a similar kinship in flavor to Assyrtiko. Those hostile environments make for great wine. Volcanic soils get it done!
