After the blow out success of the 2015 Anthem we went back to the winery to see if they could supply another deep deal. With much of their library wine being held for a new tasting room on Mt. Veeder, we managed to secure one more parcel of their Estate Cab. Just like the 2015, this powerful, brooding wine was crafted by cult winemaker, Jeff Ames, (who by the way just added a few more perfect scores to his running total with recent TOR releases) and again combines Veeder's volcanic minerality with Jeff's rich, hedonistic style. Those powerful mountain fruit tannins are just beginning to loosen their grip on this seven year old wine, and it's already more expansive than when I first tasted it a year ago. The best of this wine is still to come as is it heads into a decade of prime drinking. This may be the last chance to take advantage of these incredible direct deals from Anthem as the winery's direct to consumer program kicks into gear after the disruptions of the last 12 months. We sold out fast last time around and received many many requests for more 2015 after it was long sold out, don't let that happen to you this time around!
