Ian D'Agata writes: "Nino Caravaglio may well be the best producer of Lipari wines today. His range speaks clearly of the varieties involved and also of the island terroirs where the grapes grow. He has recently started experimenting with long macerations on the skins, and while some of the results he has obtained are magnificent (witness his dry Malvasia Occhio di Terra) he is intelligent and sensible enough not to turn such production methods into a dogma."
