Caciorgna Pietro is located in the town of Casole d 'Elsa in the heart of Tuscany. Giovanni and Fulvia Caciorgna moved there in 1953 with their seven children and set up a small farm with a vineyard. The term "alberaia" refers to a row of trees, usually along a river, where fairs would be held or "fair dell'Alberaia." Winery tasting notes: "It has a good balance, a slight acidity, a medium body and a pleasant round finish. Alberaia has a personality that meets all tastes and offers a simple and pleasant company for every occasion."

Love this 2016 Sangiovese, Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backdrop for expressive red cherries, licorice, tobacco and spices. The 2016 radiates across the palate with notable class. It has great fruit and plenty of structure. Two Thumbs Up from Guido.
