92-95 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Only 30% was vinified in barrel but the remained was also matured in wood. Fine pale lemon colour, with a cool refined limestone nose. Beautiful purity, then a toasty crunch from the barrel, then spicy white fruit, some sunshine evident but the final alcohol level of 12.8% shows better balance. Fine long finish, a lovely Vaudésir." 91-93 points Antonio Galloni in Vinous: "The 2018 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is powerful, dense and closed in on itself. There is plenty of intensity and depth in the glass, but those qualities need time to fully emerge. Dried pear, almond, dried flowers, sage, mint and yellow fruit give the 2018 its brooding feel. The Vaudésir is one of the most reticent wines in this range today, but there is plenty of material there." (1/2020)
