The 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe Blanc (85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne brought up in barrel) offers a medium gold color to go with a ripe, sexy bouquet of caramelized peach, brioche, white flowers, and honeysuckle. It's rich and powerful, yet has good acidity, nicely integrated oak, and a clean, dry finish. Give bottles a year, then drink over the following 2-4 years. It's another food-friendly, beautifully balanced wine from this team.
Aromas of fresh, sliced bananas and yellow peaches lead to a palate that has a very supple and fleshy feel with smooth, fleshy and lightly spicy pears and melon. Drink now.
Domaine des Remizières are 4th generation winemakers that originally sold grapes to the local cooperative. After completing their winery in 1974, the family began production at their new property. The estate is now managed by Phillipe Desmeures, his daughter Emilie, and son Christophe. They have expanded to 30 ha with vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Hermitage. The Cuvée Christophe is a blend of 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne aged in a mix of new and used barrique. It captures the essence of rich full bodied whites from the region.
