A larger scaled, structured effort that oozes kirsch, strawberry, raspberry, incense and liquid flower-like aromas and flavors, the 2010 Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard hits the palate with a full-bodied, voluptuously textured feel before firming up considerably on the finish with layers of tannin. (JD)
This is also ripe yet cool with exceptionally attractive and complex aromas of plum, dark cherry and dried rose petals. The intense and well-delineated medium weight flavors possess both excellent volume and mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a mouth coating, firm and impressively long finish. There is a trace of warmth but otherwise this is really very good and worth your attention; however, note that patience will be required. *Outstanding*
You can almost read through the translucent ruby color of this wine, but there's nothing light about it. Rich with cherries, it offers lots of pleasure now, but with moderate alcohol, fine acidity, and minerality that gives the wine a foundation, it should hold in the cellar until 2018, at least. *Cellar Selection*
Strikes a fine balance, featuring gentle ripe plum, cherry and a loamy mineral edge, edging toward cranberry and anise and ending with firm, gripping tannins. Drink now through 2022. (JL)
