  Blackberries, sandalwood and dried-dark-mushroom aromas follow through to a medium to full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs a year or two to soften.

  With a claim as the highest vineyard in Bordeaux (not that that means much), this estate has produced a powerful, rich wine that just avoids overripeness and moves into a more elegant style. Plenty of tannins still go with the dark-chocolate flavors and the black fruits. (RV)

  This is a beautiful, old-school, right bank Bordeaux from the generous 2015 vintage, and it is in a great spot age-wise right now. The color is ruby, leaning into brick red. Beautiful savory dark fruits, fig, scorched earth and minerals abound on the nose. The palate has a rich, pure red fruited profile that still exhibits old school charm with a subtle earthy, saline/savory element accentuating the sweet fruit. This is Bordeaux under $20 at its best and it won't stick around very long!

  It’s been awhile since the last time I’ve tried one of K&L’s Bordeaux discoveries. The curbside drop offs and deliveries have kept us busy and we haven’t had too many opportunities to taste the new wines rolling in, much less Bordeaux. But what an excellent return to form. The 2015 Arnauton is already showing plenty of age character with an aged perfume of earthy, savory and leather character. On the palate, there is black plum, sour cherry and figs complementing dusty tannins and wonderful mid-palate fullness before a soothing finish. This is an excellent value and a great reminder of the exceptional values in Bordeaux.

  What a treat this bordeaux is to taste. Firstly, these lovely chocolate and fruit forward berry notes hits your nose. As I kept swirling the wine in my glass to nose, the flavors kept building and building upon complexity and the boldness that is characteristic of bordeaux comes out. These deep, darker complex flavors of spices, herbs, a hint of smokiness and robust strength emerge from the glass and evolve into the undertones of dark berries, some fruit leather and hints of tobacco. Lastly, the structure of this Arnauton Fronsac is so unique and exquisite that it just left me longing for more...because of it's smooth and exotic finish. Well done and enjoy. Cheers!

  Superb wine from an underrated region of Bordeaux. Plenty of black fruited aromas and flavors. Has a bit of tannin at the back in. Decant one hour if you drink it in 2021.

  What to drink with lamb steak cooked in cast iron and basted with butter and herbs? This is a FINE selection, as I recently discovered. I chose this wine because Fronsac is one of those regions in Bordeaux that isn't on everyone's radar, and only a small percentage (maybe 20%?) is exported. There are some very well-made wines in Fronsac that sit at a great price point. Personally, I enjoy finding and trying these values and recommending them to people looking for well crafted wines that will pleasantly surprise them. This shows blackberry and currant fruits, earth, cocoa plus the tannins are present on the palate, yet not aggressively so. Take a bite of buttery meat and a sip of this wine and you have yourself a wonderful wine pairing experience right there.
