The 100% Syrah 2015 Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard saw roughly one-third stems and aging in 36% new French oak. This inky colored effort boasts a captivating bouquet of ripe blackberries, bacon fat, bay leaf, and chocolate. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it has plenty of ripeness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. This is a classic Sonoma Coast Syrah with plenty of meaty, bloody Syrah characteristics paired with ample ripe fruit and texture. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years.

Winery notes: Rodgers Creek is nestled in the hills above Petaluma in the Sonoma Coast appellation. Our block is a gently sloping hillside at 800 feet elevation planted to a Cote Rotie clone specifically selected for this site. We love stem inclusion here, as we feel it accentuates the uniqueness of this vineyard and the Syrah varietal character. Opaque. Layers of aromas starting with olive tapenade, raspberry, blackberry, white pepper and a suggestion of forest floor from the whole clusters. The palate is ripe and silky, with the blue fruits turning textural and creamy. A dash of white pepper and inner mouth perfume of violet bring a savory complexity to the long and satisfying finish. 125 cases produced.
