Winemaker's Notes: "A fresh and different take on Foothills Barbera, this wine expresses fresh, fruity aromatics and is lively across the palate. Tannins extracted from the stems during fermentation provide a counterpoint of earthy, herbal aromas, as well as imparting distinctive, fine tannins on the finish. Certified organically grown grapes from the Fairplay AVA.Fermented in two lots, one de-stemmed, and one whole cluster. The whole clusters are gently placed in a covered stainless steel tank, where they undergo a 20 day semi-carbonic fermentation, after which they are pressed and blended with the traditionally fermented de-stemmed lot. Aged 9 months in neutral French barrels, followed by 3 months in stainless drums. 118 cases produced. 13.7% ABV."
