A.H. Hirsch is a legendary name in American Whiskey - the true classics sell for thousands of dollars a bottle. Fortunately for those of us who like an every day drinker the brand has reimagined what it means to offer value in today's whiskey market. Refreshingly transparent, the new Hirsch release - The Horizon - open displays the source, mashbills, and ages of the distillate. The Horizon combines two straight
bourbons distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Each bottle features a grid on the back label with exact batch specifications. 94% of the blend is distilled from a traditional mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley aged a minimum of 4 years (5 years and 4 months to be exact for this first release). The remaining 6% is distilled from a high rye mash aged 6 years for added complexity.
